Gorgeous Beaches in Playa Del Carmen

The Riviera Maya is located south of Cancun to Tulum and the beaches between heaven and Planet are consistently ranked among the most beautiful beaches in the world of travel experts, such as Conde Nast and Lonely.
Wide, sugary white sand beaches Slip apartment in the gentle waves of the Gulf of Mexico. The white sand beneath the surface of the water radiate with rich colors of blue and turquoise, which are only found here, the Costa Maya. Sometimes theshore is so shallow you can walk all the way out to the Mesoamerican Reef, the second largest barrier reef in the world. This reef serves to not only calm the incoming waves, but also as a treasure chest of wildlife and corals. As you can imagine, scuba and snorkelling are two of Playa del Carmen's best activities
Playa del Carmen is perfectly positioned in between the resort madness of Cancun and eco-friendly, quiet beach area of Tulum and its famous Maya ruins. On Playa del Carmen's north shore is Coco Beach. Coco Beach is gorgeous and a great place to go if you want to avoid the crowds. We like to come here during high season to avoid the big tourist crowds found further south. Currently there are no major facilities like bars, restaurants or sunbeds for rent so pack a picnic. There is also great parking around the bottom of Avenida 48.
Travel a bit further south and you'll hit Mamitas Beach which is dominated by Mamitas Bar & Restaurant. You can't miss it! There you can relax (with about 1,000 others in high season) on sun loungers and have your pina coladas delivered right to you. Mamitas is the flash place to go during peak season; to be and be seen; but off season it is crowd free and casual and a nice place to come for meals overlooking the sea.
Still further south beyond the pier is our little slice of heaven. It is shaded, quiet and very private, known only to the locals and a select few with condos or beach houses in the area and I think I'll keep it that way.
Do come to Mexico's Mayan Riviera and to Playa del Carmen where the sun is bright and relaxing, the sand warm and inviting and the water turquoise and refreshing.
